To Qualify
You must be a Door County resident or employed within the county, and be committed to making a difference in the community.
You qualify for Leadership Door County if you are:
-Experienced as a volunteer in the community
-Interested in assuming a stronger leadership role
-Able to commit to attending each class, held once a month over 10 months
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to their potential for leadership, would contribute to the overall diversity and strength of the class, commit to the program and future community service.
An orientation meeting is required for participation in Leadership Door County. You will be contacted shortly after the application deadline to schedule.
A maximum of 15 applicants will be chosen.
All applications are subject to confidential evaluation. If you are not selected to participate in Leadership Door County this year, your application will be retained for future consideration.
Application Fee
The $750 tuition fee is due at the beginning of the year and is not refundable. Payment may be made in installments with prior approval. Some employers are willing to sponsor employees or offer tuition assistance to those interested in the program. Financial constraints need not limit applicants from participating. Your commitment
You must participate in the following:
-A two-day opening session will be held Monday & Tuesday, September 11th and 12th, 2023.
Monthly day-long sessions held at different locations throughout the county:
-Tuesday, October 10, 2023
-Tuesday, November 7, 2023
-Tuesday, December 12, 2023
-Tuesday, January 9, 2024
-Tuesday, February 13, 2024
-Tuesday, March 12, 2024
-Tuesday, April 9, 2024
-Tuesday, May 14, 2024
-A two-day closing retreat and commencement celebration in June (dates not set yet – likely June 10th and 11th, 2023)
-Participation in a group community project (to be decided upon by the class). Report will be presented at the commencement celebration.
